World Egg Day is This Friday! And, Yes, It’s a Thing!

Looking for a terrific reason to pop into Brunch for a tasty and egg-cellent meal? Then set a notification for this Friday, October 11— it’s World Egg Day!

World Egg Day was created over twenty year ago in Vienna to raise awareness of the benefits of eggs and their importance in human nutrition. Today the event is celebrated across the globe, as countries continue to promote eggs as affordable, versatile, and delicious.

Seriously, this is a worldwide event!

Egg-themed events are planned across the globe on Friday. Canada intends to give a major shoutout to their egg farmers…In Ghana, school kids take quizzes on egg nutrition….and Columbians are ALL in this year for World Egg Day as they attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest scrambled egg. 62,000 eggs will be used during the attempt, which will help to feed 15,000 vulnerable people in the area.

At Brunch, we’re SUPER fans of the egg (it IS our iconic logo, after all!). And we plan to do our part to help bring awareness to eggs as delicious, nutritious, and perfect for brunch entrees. Like Lox Benedict, a favorite on our new fall menu. Creamy hollandaise sauce smothers poached eggs and rich, savory lox. Served on an English muffin; a sprinkling of salty fried capers garnishes this dish.

During the two-day extravaganza, guests can enjoy a free mimosa during their visit between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on both days.

September is All-American Breakfast Month & Harley Rally

Your mother always said, “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” Well, it’s no secret Brunch agrees. But so does Congress! No joke. A few years ago, Congress designated September All-American Breakfast Month to celebrate the importance of kicking off your day with a nutritious breakfast. Eat breakfast at Brunch ASAP to make your mom (and Uncle Sam) happy.

And you know what else kicks off September that’s as all-American as a hearty breakfast? The Milwaukee Rally & H.O.G.® National Rally at the H-D Museum on Labor Day weekend. From August 29 – September 1, it’s sure to be THE party of the summer.

Breakfast Goonies – Throughout August

If you’re expecting to watch the classic ’80s kids movie during breakfast, that’s not what we mean by “Breakfast Goonies” (although, that would be awesome…).

Breakfast Goonies are the August Brunch special created by Executive Chef Mike Holz. These crispy bites are  a riff on crab rangoon, the classic Chinese take-out appetizer made from fried wonton wrappers. Our Breakfast Goonies are stuffed with cream cheese, scrambled eggs, bacon, green onions, and then fried to a delicious  crisp. A side of savory bacon-garlic jam is just right for dipping. Hurry—after August, these Breakfast Goonies are going…going…gone!

Celebrate Elvis Week in August with The Elvis Sandwich Elvis Sammie Aug 9th-18th

Every August at Graceland, the famous Elvis Presley mansion in Memphis, they celebrate Elvis Week (with, apparently, even more Elvis-mania than a typical week at Graceland). This year it kicks off the weekend of August 9.

Brunch is a long way from Memphis, but we still love us some Elvis and Graceland. Legend has it Elvis noshed on a unique grilled snack. Our version layers peanut butter, sliced bananas, and honey-cured bacon between thick slices of French toast. We finish with a maple syrup drizzle. All…The…Flavors! You might even say “We’re All Shook Up!”

And lucky for you the Elvis Sandwich is one of our tried-and-true creations. So even though Elvis Week is a short time in August, you can celebrate year-round because this sammie is always on the Brunch menu (spangled jumpsuit optional).

BIG NEWS! Brunch is Moving into a New Downtown Location!

Drumroll please!

Our new downtown location is….714 North Milwaukee Street.*

Yep, we packed up all those bright yellow coffee mugs and found a wonderful new location to #brunchitup.

This new venue is awesome—with a bright, open design, great bar, and a second floor to accommodate our Brunch fans! We’ll still have outdoor seating in the summer, and a great mezzanine space available for private events.

Another fun perk….we’re just a block south of The Hop station on Milwaukee Street, so you can “hop” on by and take advantage of a free ride on Milwaukee’s new streetcar.

What hasn’t changed? Still bank on the same service-with-a-smile team of cooks, servers, and bartenders. And, of course, all your menu favorites made the move, too. But don’t be surprised if you hear some buzz about delicious specials and tasty menu tweaks to mark the new Milwaukee Street space.

Delicious July Menu Specials…Starting with Strawberry Shortcakes!

July is full of flavor at Brunch with TWO limited-time specials. Executive Chef Mike Holz whips up something sweet and seasonal to make the most of berry-picking time. And coming soon, Chef shares an omelette inspired by authentic Mexican flavors.

Starting July 1: Strawberry Shortcakes

July is peak strawberry season in Wisconsin. So, sharing a dish inspired by fresh, juicy berries is a must! Our Strawberry Shortcakes feature a stack of three Brunch Pancakes, juicy sliced berries, and sweet strawberry syrup. Whipped cream? Yes, please! Generous dollops of whipped cream finish this summer special.

Coming soon: Mexican Street Omelette

This inventive entree folds house-made chorizo (yes, we make our own chorizo) into a fluffy omelette. More flavor comes with fresh jalapeños and queso fresco. Still not done…topped with a bright chimichurri sauce. Wait, there’s more….and served with Mexican street corn.

 

Wash it down with a cup of Brunch Blend Coffee, a Brunch Bloody Mary, or a sparkling Mimosa.
